The Team

Mid-Size Southwestern Municipality looking to prevent attacks on critical infrastructure and thwart hackers who have demonstrated the ability to attack entire cities.

The Challenge

Recent municipal-level cybersecurity attacks (think: Baltimore, Laredo, New Orleans) have highlighted the vulnerability of government bodies to external attacks. In fact, one study found that 44 percent of local governments report being “under attack hourly or daily.”

The key to thwarting attacks at the onset is educating employees, since one simple mistake, i.e. one click on a contaminated link, could lead to a statewide infection.

The Solution

To train employees to detect and address cyberattacks, leadership decided to make NINJIO videos mandatory for all city employees.

The IT team was able to provide monthly and quarterly viewership updates to managers and supervisors, in addition to the ongoing reports provided to employees directly from NINJIO.

The city implemented this shift along with a comprehensive communications program, focused on individuals, supervisors, managers, and senior leaders.

“NINJIO has an extremely positive reputation in our environment, due in part to the presentation style, but more importantly due to the content relevance. NINJIO’s content is clear and focused, while the message is simple, positive, and consumable across ages.
